Steve McGuiggan

Leadership & Culture Creator

Steve McGuiggan is an owner and the Director of Baseball Operations for Minnesota Mash Baseball Club. In 2017 Steve was given one of the highest honors in youth sports when being named a Minnesota Chapter Coach of the Year by the Positive Coaching Alliance. This award was given to only 150 youth coaches throughout the country. Steve’s high tempo practice style and small group training philosophies have played a major role in creating a top level leadership program that has impacted the lives of kids all over the country. In the 5 years of MASH, over 100 athletes have moved on to play collegiate baseball.

From 2008-2011 Steve played for UIC, a Division 1 school in downtown Chicago. While a member of the Flames, Steve was named a Freshman All-American by both Ping Baseball and Louisville Slugger. Steve was a 2X All-Horizon League member, 2X All-Tournament Team selection, ranked as the 2nd best defensive player in the country by the Hardball Times and helped the Flames reach the NCAA tournament in 2008. Steve left UIC as their all time leader in hits, triples and hit by pitches. He also ranks top 10 all time in doubles, stolen bases and runs scored.

Steve’s enthusiasm and contagious energy make him a vital part of the MindStrong team. The culture he’s helped build at MASH enhances everybody who steps in the door, which is why we are proud to call Minnesota Mash the home of The MindStrong Project.
