Harvey is the founder of The MindStrong Project and a former professional pitcher in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. After graduating from Central Michigan University he finished his playing career at Minnesota State University, Mankato where he got his Masters Degree in Sport Performance. During his athletic career at MSU he was a 2x All-American and the National Pitcher of the Year in 2013. He also was a professor at the University teaching a variety of coaching classes and became a certified strength trainer with an interest in learning the biomechanics of the human body.
Martin began scouting with the Brewers in 2015 and working within player development. Alongside scouting amateur and professional baseball players he also began a coaching career with Minnesota MASH and Augsburg University. His duties as the pitching coordinator and recruiting coordinator at MASH also stem into the Mental training and Human Performance from all levels of youth to the professional ranks.
MindStrong was developed through the process of helping young athletes find their “why” and play with purpose. It would soon turn into a leadership group represented by multiple amateur and professional athletes in the Minneapolis area. The leadership group was developed with the intent of building awareness towards leadership qualities and volunteer opportunities within their community. After numerous talks with Dave Fischer the excitement developed a product that people could use to enhance their own lives which became The MindStrong Project.
Harvey does consulting work with multiple colleges across all ranks as well as professional athletes. He has done extensive work with many MLB, NFL and NHL players. Most notably NFL player Brian Peters of the Houston Texans and James van Riemsdyk of the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL. Both joined the MindStrong Project team within the last year.
