David Fischer is an Apple Valley, Minnesota native and co-founder of The Mind Strong Project. His journey through life has been paved in ice as hockey is his first love and passion. In 2006 as a senior David was named the Associated Press’s Player of the year in high school hockey, First Team All-State and was also Minnesota’s Mr. Hockey, an award given to the best High School Hockey player in the state. In the summer of 2006 David was selected 20th overall in the first round of the NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, one of the most storied hockey clusb in the history of the sport. The next four years found David playing with the Golden Gophers while attending the University of Minnesota. It was during this time that a shift occurred in David’s mentality, attitude, focus, and confidence. He realized that you can spend all the time in the weight room that you want and skate for countless hours on the ice, but if you’re not taking the proper time, care, and practice in the mental gym you are selling yourself short. He now spends his time playing in Austria’s top league. Playing professionally for over 7 years has allowed David to learn through experience. His passion is learning and helping others to achieve sustainable success in their own lives.
